Royal watch: Keeping an eye on Kate Middleton’s style

Sophisticated and demure, the Duchess of Cambridge’s style yields to much talk in the sartorial stratosphere. William and Kate’s much awaited India tour started off in Mumbai yesterday. Alexander McQueen ranks fairly high on Middleton’s list of favourite designers, so it was only natural for her to kick off the tour in a vermilion Paisley print shift by the British label. The Duke and Duchess paid their respects to those who lost their lives in the 2008 terror attacks at the Taj Palace Hotel where they happen to be staying.

Next, Kate chose a printed tea-length dress by Anita Dongre for a game of cricket at the Oval Maidan. The winning combination of an Indian label and the country’s favourite sport obviously won hearts. The Duchess styled the runway piece from Anita Dongre’s ‘Love Notes’ collection without the pants and the dupatta. The congratulatory messages have been pouring in for the designer from all over the world. “The phone has been ringing non-stop. I have barely been able to work at all. The site crashed and the IT team was up all night fixing it. I guess we went overboard with the Instagram posts but I am such a fan of her style I couldn’t help myself. She just looked so comfortable in the dress at the Oval Maidan,” said the designer. “Sold out? I’m beyond sold out and the orders are still pouring in!”

At the Royal Charity Gala dinner with Bollywood’s best, the Duchess favoured an ink blue Jenny Packham gown paired with matching earrings by Amrapali. What keeps Siya ke Ram fit and fabulous

Actor Ashish Sharma, currently seen as Ram in the popular mythological show 'Siya Ke Ram', prefers to jog his way to the sets to keep himself healthy.

"I begin my day at 5 a.m. every day. Even though the call time on set is 7 a.m. I need to be on set by 6 a.m. so that I am ready on time for my shot and to get into my costume. The entire look takes about 45 minutes to an hour," he said said in a statement.




"Amid all this, I don't get the time to work out because pack-up too happens late in the night. Keeping this in mind, I have decided to walk or jog my way to the sets in the morning and at night."

"This way, I am at least keeping my workout process continued and there's no stopping," said Ashish, who has previously appeared in shows like 'Gunahon Ka Devta', 'Chandragupta Maurya' and 'Rangrasiya'.

अब खबर यह आ रही है कि दरियादिली दिखाते हुए सलमान अपनी नई फिल्म ‘सुल्तान’ में इस बच्ची को अनुष्का शर्मा के चाइल्ड वर्जन के रोल के लिए साइन कर लिया है. यानि इस फिल्म में अनुष्का के बचपन का रोल नन्ही सुजैन निभाएंगी. इस बारे में सलमान का कहना है कि सुजैन की शक्ल बहुत हद तक अनुष्का से मिलती-जुलती है. साथ ही वो बहुत संवेदनशील भी है इस वजह से वो बेहतरीन अभिनय भी कर सकती हैं..

When Madirakshi met 'Baahubali' actor Prabhas

Actress Madirakshi, who stars as Sita in TV show "Siya Ke Ram", got a chance to meet "Baahubali: The Beginning" actor Prabhas during the shoot of the mythological show in Hyderabad.

While Madirakshi was shooting for the 'Vanvas' sequence of "Siya Ke Ram" in Ramoji Film City, coincidentally Prabhas was also shooting on the next floor for the sequel of the S.S. Rajamouli directorial.

5 Salman Khan Films That Released In Diwali And Flopped

Salman Khan’s films have always excelled during Eid but in Diwali its Shah Rukh Khan who rules the Box Office just as Christmas has proved lucky for Aamir Khan year after year.  However, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo is an exception to this as it has crossed 100 crore in less than a week. After, 16 long years that he has given a huge hit, a blockbuster on Diwali. Way back in 1999, it was Sooraj Barjatya’s massive hit, Hum Saath Saath Hain which had coincided with the Diwali weekend. Let’s have a look at Salman Khan’s films that released in Diwali but could not make a mark.

1. Kyon Ki (2005)

The film released over the Diwali weekend in 2005 and was directed by Priyadarshan. Kyon ki was said to be a remake of a Malayalam film starring Salman Khan-Kareena Kapoor, which clashed with Akshay Kumar-John Abraham-starrer, Garam Masala, failed to appeal the audience.  

2. Jaan-e-Mann (2006)

Salman’s Diwali-release Jaan-e-Mann which was directed by Shirish Kunder and also starred Akshay Kumar and Preity Zinta, faced a tough competition with Shah Rukh Khan’s Don. While Jaan-e-Mann tanked at the box office, Don went on to become a hit.

3. Saawariya (2007)

The next year Salman returned on Diwali with Saawariya, though he only had a cameo while Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor made their debut with this film. The romance saga, which locked horns with Shah Rukh’s Om Shanti Om marking the debut of Deepika Padukone, turned out to be a disaster.

4. Heroes (2008)

Heroes featured  Salman along with Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta but the Samir Karnik-directed film was declared a big flop

5. Main Aurr Mrs. Khanna (2009)

Yet another film of Salman that saw the Diwali release. He reunited for this romantic film with Kareena Kapoor while Sohail Khan too played a significant role. However, the movie failed to impress the audience.
