Best dressed this week: Parineeti Chopra and Shraddha Kapoor

The best thing about a summer wardrobe is the spectrum of colours and prints one can play with. This week, Parineeti Chopra stepped out wrapped in a rainbow of hues at the H&M store, while overseas, Kerry Washington, Jessica Biel and Kate Hudson played with abstract patterns that shouted out for attention.
Then there were the ladies who doused themselves in solid pops of colour. Shraddha Kapoor went the metallic route in a royal blue Prabal Gurung, Karlie Kloss picked a purple Victoria Beckham gown in remembrance of late singer Prince, and Lindsey Vonn picked a semi-bejewelled piece in a tart shade of lime. It’s safe to say that blacks and whites are great, but it doesn’t hurt to play with crazy colours.

This is how you can make Sonam Kapoor your digital BFF

If you thought social media was the only way to peek into your favourite star’s life, Sonam Kapoor’s big new project is going to change the way you fangirl forever.
Launching today in collaboration with Disciple Media, Kapoor’s eponymous app is the actor’s way of connecting with fans all over the globe on a more personal note than ever before. “I think of this app like my little home, where I can invite people in and tell them, ‘This is what I live like, this is who I am, this is what my friends are like, these are my likes and my dislikes.’ I’d been thinking of doing something for a while, and then the guys from Disciple came down from London and they said, ‘Why don’t you do a Sonam-specific app?’”
From make-up and hair tutorials to fitness tips, and behind-the-scenes footage from shoots and films, the app ‘Sonam Kapoor’ is going to give the world access to her most personal thoughts and moments. “The app is still a work in progress in terms of cleaning it up, and collecting more data,” Kapoor tells us. “Right now, it’s going to have book reviews (I love to read!). I’m also doing something called Sister Act, which is basically my sister (Rhea Kapoor) and I, and a couple of my friends, talking about topics that are relevant, or even irrelevant to us. There’s also trends I like right now, archives of my work, which I like to call my Chronicles, and a section called Workohol—not workaholic—which highlights all the things I do. You can also expect movie posters that you can download, and eventually, merchandise you can buy through the app as well.”
Think that’s where it ends? Not a chance. The best part about the app is a feature called My Tribe, which allows Sonam followers everywhere to connect with one another, and the star. “I don’t like the word fan,” Kapoor confesses. “I see people who like me as part of my tribe. I’m a part of them, they’re my community. My favourite feature of all has got to be Sonam Live, where at any given moment you’ll get an alert saying I’m going live and you can basically watch me wherever I am; it’s raw unadulterated footage, no censors.” Isn’t it too much, people have asked her. But Kapoor’s theory is simple: “You not being on social media, or not being approachable, does not make you more mysterious or aspirational. It makes you irrelevant.”
The app is now available on iTunes and Google Play

All the pictures you need to see from Bipasha Basu’s wedding celebrations

After a roaring bachelorette and much excitement over the last few weeks, Bipasha Basu‘s wedding celebrations with beau Karan Singh Grover are finally in full swing!
On April 29, the bride-to-be celebrated her mehendi, and turns out the rumours about the theme were true. Juhu’s Villa 69 transformed itself into a rose-hued wonderland for the event. Basu even matched her ensemble to the setting, picking a rose-print Anushree Reddy lehenga complete with floral headgear and pearly pink nails. There to congratulate the couple were close friends including Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Shamita Shetty, Sophie Choudry, Anusha Dandekar, model Candice Pinto and designer Rocky S.
As for the wedding on April 30, Basu chose a typical Bengali bridal ensemble by Sabyasachi, accented with traditional jewellery. The wedding reception followed right after, for which the bride changed into a head-to-toe gold look. In true Bollywood fashion, the guest list was brimming with stars including Amitabh, Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Sushmita Sen, Preity Zinta, Dia Mirza, Dino Morea, Abhay and Bobby Deol, Genelia and Riteish Deshmukh, Malaika Arora Khan, Neha Dhupia, Sophie Choudry and Tabu. Don’t miss a single picture from the slideshow!

Did you spot Priyanka Chopra at The White House Correspondents’ Dinner?

We’ve been talking about whether Priyanka Chopra, our April cover girl, would take time out of her buzzing shoot schedule to make it for the 102nd annual White House Correspondent’s dinner, and she did! The dinner, which is currently in session at Washington, is the last one to be hosted by President Barrack Obama and FLOTUS Michelle Obama, as this year marks the end of his term. Comedian Larry Willmore of ‘The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore’ is the entertainer for the evening. Chopra was spotted on the red carpet in a black plunge-neck Zuhair Murad gown, alongside others from the star-studded guest list: Emma Watson, Michele Dockery, Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith, Aretha Franklin, Karlie Kloss, Adriana Lima and Kendall Jenner amongst others.

Here are some of the arrivals on the red carpet from the event:
