Fan box office collections: Shah Rukh Khan’s film earns Rs. 36.40 cr. in two days
Fan box office collections: Shah Rukh Khan's film had a superb opening on day one but the collections witnessed a slight downfall on the second day.
Fan box office collections are out and Shah Rukh Khan’s star power has yet again proved why he is called Bollywood’s Baadshah.

Fan box office collections are out and Shah Rukh Khan’s star power has yet again proved why he is called Bollywood’s Baadshah. SRK’S film dominated the box office on the opening day of its release, but a decline in the collections was witnessed on the second day of the film’s release.
The movie had a superb opening as it minted Rs. 19.20 cr. on the first day of its release. The second day was not as pleasant as the first one as the film managed to make only Rs. 15.40 cr on Saturday with the total going up to Rs. 36.40 cr.
The film which has got a thumbs up by the critics has been getting mixed response from the viewers. The Sunday collections of the film will play an important role in the overall collections of the first weekend.
Shah Rukh Khan, who came back with a negative role after a long time, was also praised by the critics and film fraternity for his performance as fan Gaurav and superstar Aryan Khanna in the film directed by Maneesh Sharma. (Read the review of Fan: SRK is flawless in this Maneesha Sharma film)
Bollywood Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the collections of SRK’s Fan.
In the international also, the movie did a great business collecting $2.7 million (Rs. 17.93 cr.) on Thursday (April 14) and Friday (April 15).
Fan has been released in a total of 4600+ screens worldwide spanning 3500+ screen counts in India and 1100+ international screens.
With this box office numbers, Shah Rukh Khan’s Fan has shot up to the top position beating Akshay Kumar’s Airlift with Rs. 12.35 cr. and the recently released Jon Favreau’s The Jungle book with Rs. 10.09 cr. on the opening day.
Shah Rukh Khan thaned his fans by posting a video on Twitter.
She writes: “I am happy to report that ‘Fan’ is a triumph. Shah Rukh Khan is played to all his strengths, and he plays it just right, gliding in and out of the star and the fan, creating distinct identities and outlines in one scene, and blurring the lines just so in the next. It is a wonderful, grasping, knowing performance, the actor and the star all rolled in one, all at our service, even as they service Shah Rukh Khan’s stratospheric stardom. But, and this is the thing, the film does not simper or slobber. It is not in thrall to its star, even when it recognizes his stardom. It goes at itself with with a raised devil’s eyebrow ( just like SRK’s) and a nod and a wink, and brings us in on the joke. And Shah Rukh Khan keeps pace with us, all the way.”
SRK’s last year’s release Dilwale had Rs. Rs. 148.72 cr. in India and his Happy New Year, which released n 2014 was a commercial success and earned Rs. Rs. 203 cr. in India. His other hit was Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express (2013). The film earned Rs. 227.13 cr. during its lifetime.
While Friday has been lucky so far for Fan, it remains to be seen how the movie performs on Saturday and Sunday and in the coming days.

Salman Khan Bonanza on Eid 2017 and Diwali 2017
If reports are to be believed, Salman has booked the festival dates of both Eid 2017 and Diwali 2017. Which means 2017 is going to be Salman Khan‘s year, with two movie releases
While we are still waiting for his 2016 film Sultan, the teaser of which was out yesterday, superstar Salman Khan has already confirmed his 2017 releases. If reports are to be believed, Salman has booked the festival dates of both Eid 2017 and Diwali 2017. Which means 2017 is going to be Salman Khan’s year, with two movie releases! So while the Eid 2017 film starringSalman will be the Kabir Khan directorial he is doing with leggy lass Deepika Padukone, rumours have been doing the rounds for a few days now that the Diwali 2017 release ofSalman is a film with the director of his cult film Andaz Apna Apna – Rajkumar Santoshi!
Salman seems like a good friend of Santoshi. In the meantime, he has done special appearances in Santoshi’s Phata Poster Nikhla Hero and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani where he starred as himself (a superstar). Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani had his then girlfriend Katrina Kaif with Ranbir Kapoor in the lead and that is where the Ranbir-Katrina love story had begun.

Royal watch: Keeping an eye on Kate Middleton’s style
Sophisticated and demure, the Duchess of Cambridge’s style yields to much talk in the sartorial stratosphere. William and Kate’s much awaited India tour started off in Mumbai yesterday. Alexander McQueen ranks fairly high on Middleton’s list of favourite designers, so it was only natural for her to kick off the tour in a vermilion Paisley print shift by the British label. The Duke and Duchess paid their respects to those who lost their lives in the 2008 terror attacks at the Taj Palace Hotel where they happen to be staying.
Next, Kate chose a printed tea-length dress by Anita Dongre for a game of cricket at the Oval Maidan. The winning combination of an Indian label and the country’s favourite sport obviously won hearts. The Duchess styled the runway piece from Anita Dongre’s ‘Love Notes’ collection without the pants and the dupatta. The congratulatory messages have been pouring in for the designer from all over the world. “The phone has been ringing non-stop. I have barely been able to work at all. The site crashed and the IT team was up all night fixing it. I guess we went overboard with the Instagram posts but I am such a fan of her style I couldn’t help myself. She just looked so comfortable in the dress at the Oval Maidan,” said the designer. “Sold out? I’m beyond sold out and the orders are still pouring in!”
At the Royal Charity Gala dinner with Bollywood’s best, the Duchess favoured an ink blue Jenny Packham gown paired with matching earrings by Amrapali. "I begin my day at 5 a.m. every day. Even though the call time on set is 7 a.m. I need to be on set by 6 a.m. so that I am ready on time for my shot and to get into my costume. The entire look takes about 45 minutes to an hour," he said said in a statement.
"Amid all this, I don't get the time to work out because pack-up too happens late in the night. Keeping this in mind, I have decided to walk or jog my way to the sets in the morning and at night."
"This way, I am at least keeping my workout process continued and there's no stopping," said Ashish, who has previously appeared in shows like 'Gunahon Ka Devta', 'Chandragupta Maurya' and 'Rangrasiya'.
